Developed at Woods Bagot
Completed in 2016 the renovated Center for the University of Sydney Business School in Sydney Australia designed by Woods Bagot is clad in a layered façade inspired by the stone pallet the campuses historic buildings. Working with the Sydney team to develop this shading screen meant developing a system which mediated natural daylight needs and energy performance requirements with desired visibility based on interior program. This mapping exercise was then evaluated for fitness against weighted averages for the criteria to produce the shading distribution pattern and unrolled to a canvas where the larger design team could illustrate the play of color across the façade. The result of this process was a parametric model that would directly output to the project BIM model and integrate into the larger design team. Learn more at the Project Page at Woods Bagot.
