Developed at Woods Bagot
Completed in 2013 the South Australia Health and Medical Research Institute is a research center in Adelaide Australia designed by Woods Bagot. The façade of the building consists of a constant array of shading elements whose configuration fluidly blends along the breadth of the façade to meet the needs of one functional zone to another. As the computational specialist in charge of developing both the underlying façade geometry and the performative shading, mandate of the project was to seamlessly resolve the complexities of the multiple manifold building forms minimize unique panels, and document the distribution of material and shading configurations.
